Job Description

A Postdoctoral Fellow in the field of carbon capture/carbon utilization/carbon sequestration is available. The candidate should produce research and publish findings or creative works in addition to advising graduate students.
The School of Engineering at KFUPM invites applicants to apply for a full time Postdoctoral Fellow position in Carbon Capture and Sequestration Research Division. The appointment begins Fall 2016. Candidates must demonstrate high caliber in research in these areas and ability to develop undergraduate courses in CC, CU and/or CS technologies.

Job Responsibility

1. Should be capable of writing proposals in the areas of CC, CU and/or CS technologies
2. Should be able to contribute to the ongoing research in CC, CU and/or CS
3. Can develop courses in CC, CU and/or CS technologies and contribute to core curriculum development
4. Demonstrate a sustained and productive program of research and publication or creative activity in carbon capture
5. Remain current in the discipline and incorporate current research, theory, and methods in teaching

Compensation & Benefits

Competitive salary based on qualifications and experience. The appointment includes the following benefits according to the university policy.

Qualifications

Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering/ Chemical Engineering or Chemistry with good experience in Carbon Capture, Utilization and sequestration Technologies

1. Ability to teach ndergraduate courses, mentor students through academic advising, and integrate research/creative activity into the classroom to stimulate enthusiastic learning.
2. Scholarly activity in Carbon Capture Technologies as demonstrated by the publication of scholarly materials reflecting current developments in a particular area of expertise and/or production of professional/artistic creations that achieve recognition in the research community
3. High degrees of theoretical and technical competency in Carbon Capture Technologies relevant to current trends in the area of expertise/specialization
4. Ability to effectively engage faculty, staff, and students in a collegial and collaborative manner
5. Effective written and oral communication skills

Preferred Qualifications
1. Excellent research capabilities and interest in the areas of Carbon Capture, Utilization and Sequestration
2. Experience in developing new Carbon Capture/Sequestration Technologies
